New Mexico: Kuryakyn Photo Shoot
Alright! Where to begin; So I went to Albuquerque, New Mexico for about 3 or 4 days. We’re turning a new page at work and starting to find our new demographic(s), if not push the ones we already advertise to, and begin our new race to beat the bad economy and show that determination and brains is the way to do things when times get tough!
Within that time our photographer was able to get 9,000 incredible photos (HDR technique included… but “ya know”). From metric bikes to Gold Wings to Harley Davidsons, we have some of the most incredible shots you’ll ever see.
Where’s my part in all of this? I was tasked to do the filming for behind the scenes and show what everything looks like behind the lens and still keep Kuryakyn product as the main focus. Personally I think I did a successful job of it. We had both Anna and Michelle as our models to help give our product a bit more style and class plus add a little more excitement to the photos. One thing is for sure: I have much more respect for what they do. None of the poses they got into looked natural, but they look incredible on film! So they obviously know what they’re doing.
This video in particular…
… was for a good sized meeting to help really show what Kuryakyn is and give a nice little teaser into what we can expect in later videos. This year is going to have some of the most incredible videos in the motorcycle industry!
The Shoot:
Wow was it ever cold! I mean yes it was November but no one expected it to be that cold even for a state so far down south (west)! Turns out neither did any of the… New Mexicans… Mexicanite-ers?… ? For just that length of time it was one of the colder weeks they’ve had in a long time. It was about 40 degrees each day, but that was mid-day. In order to get awesome light great shots, most of ones shooting is done in the morning and afternoon while the sun is setting and rising.
All I have to say about that… it was SO worth it! Jim Gallop is a genius and we are in his debt for sure.
